Building Momentum (Even When It’s Messy)

Hey you,

This week was a whirlwind — but the good kind.

Between launching Vlogtober (post a vlog every day for 31 days of October), balancing work chaos, and squeezing in family time, I realized thattttt, I’m not chasing perfection right now, I’m chasing momentum.

One Thing to Think About This Week

We put so much pressure on doing things the “right” way that we forget how powerful it is just to begin.

This week, I dove into Vlogtober without a perfect plan — juggling work deadlines, editing late at night, and dealing with Ledger’s surprise wakeups. But, even the “off” days are progress when you stay in motion.

Sometimes it’s not about a perfect system or morning routine… it’s about showing up, figuring it out, and remembering why you started. For me, that “why” is simple: I love creating. YouTube feels like home again.

Celebrate Your Wins

  • 🎬 Launched Vlogtober — my consistency challenge and creative reset.
  • 🚴‍♀️ Said yes to spontaneity — a last-minute bike ride, some golf, and wings with friends.
  • ❤️ Still showed up for family time — food truck park adventures, slides, and Ledger’s chicken spotting.
  • I found and have decided to post the backlog of youtube videos i’ve been sitting on that are 99% already edited (because I let fear hold me back…. for years… for no reason at all ).

Even when my schedule felt wild, I realized the balance isn’t perfect — but it’s working.

Productivity Hack of the Week

Remove friction before it happens.

If something keeps slipping through the cracks (like me forgetting to heat the pool 😅), automate it or make it effortless.

Tiny fix = massive peace of mind.

Because most “discipline problems” are actually system problems in disguise.

What I’m Into This Week

  • 🎥 App:Rosebud — AI journaling that actually feels like therapy and helps you see patterns you’d totally miss.
  • 📹 Youtube: I created a video on a Morning Audit. Give it a watch (it comes with a free quiz you should def consider taking)
  • 🎧 Podcast: The Pocket Podcast — This episode is with Jim Fortin and is so so so good for growth

Life Snapshot

  • Family Moments: Ledger’s current obsession = pointing out trash cans. He’s also mastered the art of sliding, giggling, and cuddling all his stuffies (his newest one is a “chicken” that’s actually not a chicken.
  • Personal Wins: Finally organized my garage gym so my adjustable dumbbells are actually usable (aka no more excuses).
  • Real-Life Moments: Ledger is realizing what separation anxiety is and it’s been a new challenge at night….. but we’re working through it, one google search at a time (thanks, Mads).

One Last Thing

Momentum > Motivation.

You don’t need to feel inspired to do the thing. You just need to start. ← Literally don’t want to run? Go pick up your shoes. Momentum will carry you the rest of the way.

And when you show up — messy, tired, and figuring it out as you go — the magic happens anyway.

Fun P.S.

Ledger and I went on a fun walk/jog in a new area by the house and played on the playground. After we grabbed lunch (that he didn’t eat) at our fave food truck park to say hi to the chickens (and roosters). (Yes, I did record this and the vlog was just released. You should watch it below).

Maybe that’s the reminder we all need — joy isn’t always in the plan, it’s in the moment.

If you’ve been sitting on a creative idea, fitness goal, or side project — just start.

Don’t wait for “perfect.”

Document the messy middle, because that’s where growth actually lives.

See you next Sunday 💛

Hey you, This week was a mix of wins, lessons, and a little bit of chaos — just how I like it. I got promoted at work (still riding that high 🙌), crushed a 6-mile run I was so close to skipping, and had one of those simple, joy-filled moments that reminded me what all this “balance” stuff is about. We stopped by our neighbor’s house before a community event, and Ledger met their dog, Denver. They became instant best friends — running around, laughing, playing fetch. He hasn’t had a fetch...

Hey you, I did a thing. I registered for the Austin Marathon. Blame (thank!) Zane hyping me up, the video of the 80-year-old Ironman finisher, my neighbor reminding me you can walk-jog it, and my bestie Mike saying he’ll run it at my pace if he’s free. 🥹 Community is everything—and honestly, it’s why I fell in love with running in the first place. Also… Mads started running too. Heart = full. One Thing to Think About This Week Borrowed belief is still belief. When your own motivation dips,...

Hey you, We’re back home in Austin, Texas. We got in last night around 7:30 p.m.—too late to see Ledger before bed—but we got our morning snuggles in today, and that alone made the whole trip worth it. This week was all about family, celebration, and a little bit of altitude-induced humility. We flew to Colorado Springs for my cousin’s wedding, where I had the honor of being a groomswoman. One Thing to Think About This Week Weddings always remind me of what really matters—connection,...
