A California Escape, Fresh Perspectives, and the Sweetest Homecoming

Hey you,

I hope this week finds you soaking up the little moments and embracing all the big feels. I just got back from a whirlwind trip to California for a work conference—and let me tell you, it was a breath of fresh, ocean-kissed air.

From last-minute room upgrades (content creation perks!) to letting myself have a much-needed cry in an airport bar, I realized sometimes the best thing we can do is lean into our emotions and allow the magic of each moment to unfold. Let’s jump in…

One Thing to Think About This Week

I had a lightbulb moment when I noticed I’d been so focused on comforting my partner’s anxieties on leaving Ledger that I never stopped to acknowledge my own. Emotions hit me out of the blue at the airport, and I let myself cry—right there at the bar! It was quick, but wow, did it help me feel lighter and more present for the entire trip.

Reflect on this: When’s the last time you gave yourself permission to fully feel? Sometimes the healthiest thing we can do is let the tears flow.

Celebrate Your Wins

  • Win #1: Stepping out of the daily routine for a work conference and actually having fun. I found myself thriving in the hustle—meeting new people, exploring new places, and enjoying some beach vibes in Laguna.
  • Win #2: Prioritizing consistency. I kept up with my 5-Minute Journal, whether in paper form or via the app, which helped me stay grounded in gratitude amidst all the travel chaos.

Remember: Wins can be big or small. Sometimes it’s just giving yourself a moment to breathe and be proud of surviving a long day!

Productivity Hack of the Week

Turo made renting a car super simple. We booked everything in-app—no long lines or hidden fees. For a busy trip with multiple flights and hotels, it was a game-changer. If you’re someone juggling travel, conferences, or even just weekend getaways, check out Turo. You’ll save time, energy, and sanity.

What I’m Into This Week

  • App/Tech: I’m loving Skool—an online community platform I’ve joined for coaching and content creation. It’s a fantastic way to connect with like-minded people chasing their dreams.
  • TV Show: The Night Agent on Netflix. Perfect for flight entertainment or cozy nights in. If you like suspense and intrigue, this one’s for you.

Life Snapshot

  • Personal Wins: Overcoming the heartache of leaving Ledger for five days. It wasn’t easy, but having trust in our support system (and daily photo updates) helped ease the guilt and anxiety.
  • Family Moments: Coming home to Ledger after the trip was everything. We pulled up, called his name, and his little face lit up—pure joy.
  • Real-Life Relatability: We decided to do the neighborhood garage sale without proper planning (hello, 6 AM wake-up call), but it turned into a mini block party. We chatted with neighbors, shared laughs, and felt that warm sense of community.

One Last Thing

Even the most well-planned trip can throw you unexpected obstacles—like an itty-bitty hotel room that wasn’t quite what we wanted or the emotional rush that hits you when you least expect it. But each “bump” can lead to something better (a bigger room, a release of pent-up feelings, or a priceless memory). Remember: little detours can be beautiful pivots toward something amazing.

Fun P.S.

We got the room upgrade by telling the hotel manager we’d be making content—and guess what? It actually worked (we did have to pay a little up-charge)! Sometimes, all it takes is a little creative spin and the confidence to ask. Life really can surprise you when you put yourself out there.

Week In Review

I’d give this week a 9/10—the only thing holding it back from a perfect score is the exhaustion from juggling so many moving parts. But honestly, reconnecting with Ledger, having great conversations with neighbors, and soaking in the California sun made it all worth it.

  • What worked well: Leaning into my feelings, staying connected to family, and building community both at the conference and back home.
  • What could be better: More pre-planning for the garage sale would have helped. And, as always, I’m still working on making peace with my fear of flying.

That’s all for this week, friend. I hope you give yourself the space to feel it all—the highs, the lows, and everything in between. Sending you sunny vibes and an extra dose of encouragement to keep going, keep growing, and keep celebrating every win.

Until next time,

Trina

Hey you, Let me paint the picture: it’s 4AM on Memorial Day, and I’m chugging electrolytes, double-checking my gear, and eating a simple breakfast.” It’s race day. But not just any race— It’s the CapTexTri Olympic Relay - I’m on the bike. It’s Memorial Day. And it’s the day we lost Papa John. I carried him with me that morning. Especially when the temp dropped a good 20° and started raining with some crazy wind gusts. I was like, “is this you? Are you messing with me? Bring it. Let’s do...

Hey you, This week reminded me that life is one big experiment—and we’re all just tweaking the formula as we go. Between late-night Limitless episodes, toddler-led Target trips, and prepping for my first triathlon relay, I found myself thinking a lot about capacity. Physical, mental, emotional. What we’re capable of… and how often we underestimate it. Let’s reset. One Thing to Think About This Week Are you pausing with purpose or just pushing through the noise? Hey you, Another week in the books—and this one was a trip. We’re talking Mother’s Day chaos (spoiler: I forgot a gift), podcast comebacks, tech meltdowns, editing marathons, a gorgeous wedding, and Ledger clapping his way through lullabies. And somehow, we still made it to the food truck park, sushi spot, and playground before the week was over. Let’s hit reset together. One Thing to Think About This Week Are you actually trying—or just going through the reps? This slapped me mid-workout....
