Late-Night Edits, Big Dreams, and Even Bigger Toddler Shoes

Hey you,

Another week in the books—and this one was a trip.

We’re talking Mother’s Day chaos (spoiler: I forgot a gift), podcast comebacks, tech meltdowns, editing marathons, a gorgeous wedding, and Ledger clapping his way through lullabies. And somehow, we still made it to the food truck park, sushi spot, and playground before the week was over.

Let’s hit reset together.

One Thing to Think About This Week

Are you actually trying—or just going through the reps?

This slapped me mid-workout. I’ve been hitting PRs lately not because I changed the workout, but because I stopped half-assing the reps. I started focusing.

And honestly, that lesson’s been bleeding into everything else—how I parent, how I show up in convos, how I make decisions.

Half-effort = half-results. Don’t fake the rep.

Celebrate Your Wins

  • 🎙️ Recorded my first podcast episode in forever with Sky. We set up two mics, three cameras, and enough tech drama to make it spicy.
  • ✂️ Edited two vlogs: one for Mother’s Day, one for weekly life stuff.
  • 🏋️‍♀️ Switched my lifting strategy and started loving the 6–8 rep range again. Less autopilot, more intention.
  • 📆 Got creative with planning—content, coaching, and making space for joy.

Productivity Hack of the Week

Repurpose with purpose.

I’m testing out Riverside.fm for the pod with multi-cam support—and while I don’t know if it’ll be a nightmare to edit, I do know this:

You probably already have content, ideas, or convos that are just waiting to be reused. Don’t overthink it. Remix what’s already good.

What I’m Into This Week

  • 🎧 YouTube: Fred Again’s Tiny Desk concert—pure vibe, instant work mode.
  • 📱 App: Apple Translate. We used it with Ledger’s sitter (who speaks Spanish), and the convo view legit made us feel like secret agents.

Life Snapshot

  • Celebrated our first official Mother’s Day as a family.
  • Went to an amazingly beautiful wedding in this Austin, TX heat. Being in the presence of love is always such an amazing thing. Did I cry? Of course. :) There were so many great speeches and the vows were chefs kiss.
  • We hit the food truck park, sushi spot, AND the playground in one day. He had ice cream. I got steps in. Mads got in the world’s longest line. Everyone won.

One Last Thing

Midweek, I laid in bed and realized how fast everything is moving—work, life, Ledger’s development, our dreams.

But we don’t have to move at that speed.

Pause. Reflect. Redirect.

Because when we slow down enough to be intentional, everything feels smoother.

Fun PS:

Ledger is officially a size 5C with the widest feet known to man. If you know of toddler shoes that don’t feel like stuffing a potato into a sock—please send them my way. 🙃

Hey you, Let me paint the picture: it’s 4AM on Memorial Day, and I’m chugging electrolytes, double-checking my gear, and eating a simple breakfast.” It’s race day. But not just any race— It’s the CapTexTri Olympic Relay - I’m on the bike. It’s Memorial Day. And it’s the day we lost Papa John. I carried him with me that morning. Especially when the temp dropped a good 20° and started raining with some crazy wind gusts. I was like, “is this you? Are you messing with me? Bring it. Let’s do...

Hey you, This week reminded me that life is one big experiment—and we’re all just tweaking the formula as we go. Between late-night Limitless episodes, toddler-led Target trips, and prepping for my first triathlon relay, I found myself thinking a lot about capacity. Physical, mental, emotional. What we’re capable of… and how often we underestimate it. Let’s reset. One Thing to Think About This Week Are you pausing with purpose or just pushing through the noise? I caught myself mid-scroll the...

Hey you, Whew—what a week. We kicked it off with some 3 a.m. drama (thanks, Ledger) and ended it with a lot of love, some deep convos, new plans, and a birthday vlog finally live. This week reminded me that progress doesn’t always look like big wins. Sometimes it’s a workout squeezed in before picking up your dogs. Sometimes it’s editing a vlog while your baby sneezes into his 12-month milestone like “what even is sleep?” And sometimes it’s saying screw it to your to-do list and just going on...
