Snack Runs, Triathlon Fuel, & a Life Experiment

This week reminded me that life is one big experiment—and we’re all just tweaking the formula as we go.

Between late-night Limitless episodes, toddler-led Target trips, and prepping for my first triathlon relay, I found myself thinking a lot about capacity. Physical, mental, emotional. What we’re capable of… and how often we underestimate it.

Let’s reset.

One Thing to Think About This Week

Are you pausing with purpose or just pushing through the noise?

I caught myself mid-scroll the other day and realized… I wasn’t even looking for anything. Just filling space.

So I sat on the couch and just… lounged. No guilt (maybe a little at first) and it was really nice.

Celebrate Your Wins

  • Biked 10 miles as prep for my upcoming triathlon relay.
  • Got in a deep flow state (yes, even with Ledger zooming around).
  • Uploaded Sky’s podcast and re-synced with my content rhythm.
  • Took a break from consuming to just be—and got inspired all over again.

Productivity Hack of the Week

Try this: Gratitude + Contribution.

Gratitude is great. But pairing it with Reverse Gratitude takes it further.

Every day, write down:

  1. What you’re grateful for
  2. 3 ways you contributed to others today

It grounds you in both presence and purpose.

Life Snapshot

Ledger is walking—fast. Almost running.

He’s officially in the “everything-is-interesting-except-my-toys” phase and is still surprisingly uninterested in sweets. But give him a snack plate of real food? Game over.

We took a midweek trip to Target just for the fun of it. That’s the stage we are in right now. Taking Ledger to do the most random things like scrolling the food aisles of Target. It’s the little things, right?!

One Last Thing

I’m doing the CapTexTri triathlon relay this Monday with two coworkers—my leg is the bike: 24.3 miles. It’s the longest ride I’ve ever trained for.

But it’s more than a race.

It’s happening on Memorial Day, the same day we lost Papa John. He’ll be with me the entire time—mile by mile, push by push. This ride is for him.

As I load up on electrolytes and carbs, I’m not just fueling my body—I’m testing my mind, my will, my capacity. This isn’t just a fitness challenge. It’s a life experiment.

To see what happens when you stop coasting… and start leaning in.

After cleaning out all(most) of my tech boxes, I’ve come to one conclusion:

I’m either a minimalist… or a gadget hoarder in denial. (We know which one I am. You never know when you’ll need that old iPhone box again).
