Building My Winter Arc (and the Run That Changed My Week)

Hey you,

This week felt like momentum. Solid miles, real reflections, family moments, and a ton of tiny actions that added up. You’re building your Winter Arc brick by brick — not in a flashy way, but in the “I’m showing up, even when life is life-ing” way.

Let’s walk through the week together.

One Thing to Think About This Week

This week reminded me how easy it is to slip into “I’ll start after the holidays…” energy — especially when the sun dips early and we’re busy juggling family, work, and life.

But instead of coasting, I’m choosing to build my Winter Arc on purpose.

Not with perfection. Just… intention.

Running consistently.

Creating content that actually feels true.

Making sleep and nutrition matter again — because they genuinely change everything.

This is the season most people check out. This is the season I’m checking in.

Celebrate Your Wins

  • Ran 8.5 miles and still had more in the tank. Stayed on target because I didn’t want to mess up my Runna stats — peak runner behavior and I’m proud of it.
  • Averaged around an 11:15 pace. At this rate, a sub-5 marathon is in reach. And a 4:30? We’ll see. Either way, this is real progress.
  • Pushed myself to run after long days, late evenings, and work events — and actually did it.
  • Stuck with daily movement, even when the vibe said “couch.”
  • Created a full Winter Arc guide. A whole system. For people. By me. That’s huge.

Productivity Hack of the Week

Remove friction or it will quietly ruin your day.

This week I cleaned up my Daily Log workflow at work:

  • A “create” button now spins up meeting notes instantly
  • Migrated tasks get marked with >> so I don’t drown in an endless list
  • Anything that lingers gets tossed into a Backlog toggle instead of sitting in my face all week

Tiny tweaks → smoother brain → better flow.

Also: If something isn’t on my calendar… I will forget it.

(Yes, including a 30-minute Shaun T workout.)

What I’m Into This Week

  • Workout Program: Late-night garage workouts with Shaun T’s new DIG IN program — strength, low-impact sweat, 30 minutes, no excuses needed. 30 Days. Lock In
  • Drink: Brez Elevate when I forgot my coffee, vitamins, electrolytes… basically everything except my child.
  • Support: Sharing Alex’s Day 80 update from our podcast. The man is walking across the country for suicide prevention. Absolutely inspiring. If you feel called to help support his journey, please find his link here.

Life Snapshot

  • Family Wins: Ledger wanted his own “martini” during family drinks. So yes… I gave him a shaker cup with ice and water so he could mix like the crew. Peak toddler joy.
  • Cute Chaos: He helps with the dishwasher (incorrectly), spills water everywhere (daily), and insists on doing whatever we’re doing — and it’s the best thing ever.
  • Relationship Snapshot: We had a small scheduling miscommunication about Ledger’s doctor appointment — and it was a good reminder that a 5-minute Sunday sync saves us 50 headaches.
  • Personal Growth: Noticing how relationships shift with life seasons. Time is too short to assume you’ll “get to people later.” The moment to value your circle is always now.

One Last Thing

This time of year can pull you into comfort mode.

Warm food. Cozy blankets. Darker evenings. Holiday brain.

But you get to choose what this season becomes for you.

Show up imperfectly.

Move your body even when it’s not pretty.

Make decisions that support your future self.

And remember: you don’t need a new year to make a new move.

Start your Winter Arc now.

Fun P.S.

Mads, Ledger, Julie and Atlas joined my co-workers and I at a work happy hour at Bolden Acres. Kids running around everywhere. Plus pickleball. Loved it. Ledger had so much fun playing on the slide and throwing the pickleball all over the court while holding the paddle. Did he hit the ball with the paddle? Absolutely not, but he sure did have a blast.

Closing

Hey you, This week was a mixed bag of early mornings, toddler chaos, tiny notebooks, and big visualizations — and I loved it. It felt like the version of me I’ve been trying to step back into.
