Community > Motivation (and yep, I signed up for the marathon)

Hey you,

I did a thing. I registered for the Austin Marathon.

Blame (thank!) Zane hyping me up, the video of the 80-year-old Ironman finisher, my neighbor reminding me you can walk-jog it, and my bestie Mike saying he’ll run it at my pace if he’s free. 🥹 Community is everything—and honestly, it’s why I fell in love with running in the first place. Also… Mads started running too. Heart = full.

One Thing to Think About This Week

Borrowed belief is still belief.

When your own motivation dips, stand on someone else’s. Zane, my neighbor, Mike, and Mads gave me a ladder this week—and I climbed.

Celebrate Your Wins

  • Registered for the Austin Marathon (eep!).
  • Said yes to community: texts, nudges, and “I’ll run with you” offers.
  • Noticed what actually fuels me: people, stories, momentum.
  • Kept refining my world—tiny upgrades to routines and environment.

Productivity Hack of the Week

Bring back the full Sunday Reset—without the Sunday panic. Being proactive and taking the time to plan things out BEFORE Sunday, make it a much smoother end of the week.

  • Do a Friday 15: quick sweep of emails, calendar, errands.
  • Saturday Light: one chore + one joy.
  • Sunday Reset (calm version):
    • Plan meals + workouts
    • Look at the week’s 3 priorities
    • This turns Sunday from “catch-up chaos” into “set-up calm.”

What I’m Into This Week

  • System: “Clutter out, clarity in.” One drawer/shelf/stack per day. Want my Sunday Reset? Here
  • App/Tech:Notion for simple meal + content tracking (friction ↓).
  • App: Flocus - A website to pull up while working that helps you get into flow state and truly dial into your work

Life Snapshot

  • Personal Wins: Training stayed consistent; said yes to a big goal. Even a 5 mile treadmill run felt rather….. easy. (like WHATTTTT?!)
  • Family Moments: Family fun day with another couple out at the Wildflower Center for the Fort Landia event.
  • Real-Life Relatability: I’ve been teetering on “too much to do.” So I’m building systems and moving tasks before Sunday so the Reset feels like a breath, not a chore list.

One Last Thing

I’m choosing sustainable over sensational. Fewer heroic sprints, more quiet laps. The goal isn’t to impress future me—it’s to support present me so future me actually arrives.

Fun P.S.

If you see me walk-jogging with a goofy grin, no you didn’t. (Okay fine, yes you did. Say hi. 🫶)

Tell me your big (or tiny) goal you’re saying yes to this month.

Need a nudge? I’ll be your Mike. I’ll cheer you on at your pace.

Hey you, This week was a mix of wins, lessons, and a little bit of chaos — just how I like it. I got promoted at work (still riding that high 🙌), crushed a 6-mile run I was so close to skipping, and had one of those simple, joy-filled moments that reminded me what all this “balance” stuff is about. We stopped by our neighbor’s house before a community event, and Ledger met their dog, Denver. They became instant best friends — running around, laughing, playing fetch. He hasn’t had a fetch...

Hey you, We’re back home in Austin, Texas. We got in last night around 7:30 p.m.—too late to see Ledger before bed—but we got our morning snuggles in today, and that alone made the whole trip worth it. This week was all about family, celebration, and a little bit of altitude-induced humility. We flew to Colorado Springs for my cousin’s wedding, where I had the honor of being a groomswoman. One Thing to Think About This Week Weddings always remind me of what really matters—connection,...

Hey you, This week was a whirlwind — but the good kind. Between launching Vlogtober (post a vlog every day for 31 days of October), balancing work chaos, and squeezing in family time, I realized thattttt, I’m not chasing perfection right now, I’m chasing momentum. One Thing to Think About This Week We put so much pressure on doing things the “right” way that we forget how powerful it is just to begin. This week, I dove into Vlogtober without a perfect plan — juggling work deadlines, editing...
