Love Was in the Air… and So Was the Altitude

Hey you,

We’re back home in Austin, Texas.

We got in last night around 7:30 p.m.—too late to see Ledger before bed—but we got our morning snuggles in today, and that alone made the whole trip worth it.

This week was all about family, celebration, and a little bit of altitude-induced humility. We flew to Colorado Springs for my cousin’s wedding, where I had the honor of being a groomswoman.

One Thing to Think About This Week

Weddings always remind me of what really matters—connection, celebration, and love in all its forms. Watching two people pour their hearts into handwritten vows is always such a blessing. You could literally feel the love in the air.

And that’s what I’m taking into this week—remembering that the energy you bring to the people around you matters. You don’t have to wait for a wedding to celebrate life and tell people you love them.

Celebrate Your Wins

We shut that dance floor down. 💃

Madison absolutely crushed hair and makeup for the bride and bridesmaids. And I might’ve had a solo dance moment that looked way cooler in my head—but we’ll call it confidence training.

On a more personal win: I handled this trip with ease. Normally, I’d stress about being out of routine, but this time I just let it flow. Work was handled, travel was smooth, and I gave myself permission to be present.

Productivity Hack of the Week

Use travel as your reset button.

It’s easy to see travel as “time off,” butttttt, it’s one of the best ways to gain perspective. You step out of your usual routine, realize what you actually miss (and what you don’t), and come back ready to re-dial in.

What I’m Into This Week

  • App: Runna – Perfect for anyone who wants to start running again without dying halfway through the block or if you're already a runner. I've been using it for months and Madison’s using it for our Turkey Trot prep. It also has strength, mobility and extras you can add in.
  • Show: Slow Horses on Apple TV – Not everything has to be motivational. Sometimes you just need an easy watch with a solid storyline and a few underdog wins.
  • Tech: Google Maps. I know, basic. But seriously, it’s a mini adventure portal. We used it to find local cafés, read reviews, and stalk restaurant Instagrams. Highly underrated.

Life Snapshot

  • Family Moments: Ledger stayed home with Madison’s mom, who said he was a total angel—no tantrums, all giggles. Knowing he was happy while we were gone made it way easier to be fully present.
  • Personal Wins: We didn’t get sick this time at elevation (Denver, I’m looking at you). We hydrated, took electrolytes, and actually slept. Progress.
  • Real-Life Relatability: Missed three days of Vlogtober uploads… and that’s okay. Some moments deserve to be lived, not filmed. We won’t talk about that hangover either.

One Last Thing

Coming home always brings clarity. When the dust settles (and the suitcase laundry piles up), it’s easier to see what needs attention again—your routines, your goals, your mindset.

If you’ve been off track lately, don’t overthink it. Just pick one thing that matters this week—one small dial you can turn back up. Progress starts there.

Fun P.S.

We found a Nebraska Huskers bar in Colorado Springs with all our family (because of course we did). We had to leave before the game started to head to the airport, but vibes were high.

Also, altitude workouts? 0/10 recommend for cardio—but 10/10 recommend for humility.

As you step into the new week, take five minutes to check in with yourself:

What needs a little more attention? What needs less?

Then, go live life—and remember, it doesn’t have to be perfect to be progress.

Catch you next Sunday,

Trina 🤍

Let’s just enjoy this.

Hey you, This week was a mix of wins, lessons, and a little bit of chaos — just how I like it. I got promoted at work (still riding that high 🙌), crushed a 6-mile run I was so close to skipping, and had one of those simple, joy-filled moments that reminded me what all this “balance” stuff is about. We stopped by our neighbor’s house before a community event, and Ledger met their dog, Denver. They became instant best friends — running around, laughing, playing fetch. He hasn’t had a fetch...

Hey you, I did a thing. I registered for the Austin Marathon. Blame (thank!) Zane hyping me up, the video of the 80-year-old Ironman finisher, my neighbor reminding me you can walk-jog it, and my bestie Mike saying he’ll run it at my pace if he’s free. 🥹 Community is everything—and honestly, it’s why I fell in love with running in the first place. Also… Mads started running too. Heart = full. One Thing to Think About This Week Borrowed belief is still belief. When your own motivation dips,...

Hey you, This week was a whirlwind — but the good kind. Between launching Vlogtober (post a vlog every day for 31 days of October), balancing work chaos, and squeezing in family time, I realized thattttt, I’m not chasing perfection right now, I’m chasing momentum. One Thing to Think About This Week We put so much pressure on doing things the “right” way that we forget how powerful it is just to begin. This week, I dove into Vlogtober without a perfect plan — juggling work deadlines, editing...
