Be Where Your Feet Are

Hey you,

This week was about presence. My mom and stepdad Kevin came into town for my mom’s birthday, and we kept it simple: family time, good food, pool hangs, and a lot of being where our feet were. No big agendas, just slowing down and enjoying life together. Phones down. More living, less scrolling. That was the goal.

One Thing to Think About This Week

If you’re not here, you’re there.

We all know how easy it is to drift out of the moment, but this weekend we tried to really make a point to really be present. Whether it was Ledger watching an espresso machine like it was Disneyland, conversations that stretched too long because no one checked the time, or appreciating old architecture in downtown Buda—that’s the good stuff.

Celebrate Your Wins

  • Stayed in rhythm with some of our normal routines while still making it feel like a trip.
  • My mom got to celebrate her birthday with tacos, coffee, and family time—just her speed.
  • We all spent less time on screens and more time together.

Productivity Hack of the Week

Stop stacking thoughts in your head. If something pops up—whether it’s “buy dog food,” “text so-and-so,” or “look into that gym class”—don’t drop everything to do it right then, and don’t try to remember it later. Just jot it down. Pen + paper, Notes app, Reminders app—whatever works.

That way, you can stay present in the moment instead of drifting off into task mode. Later, when you’d normally be scrolling socials, open your notes, review your list, and move things into your calendar. Small effort, big clarity.

What I’m Into This Week

  • Drink: Brez. We had to make a special stop to grab one so the fam could try. Pretty sure Kevin is a fan now!! Non alc magic in a can.
  • Pen + Paper: Quick to-dos, mini notes, little things you enjoyed today. Write it down. (Linked my fave pens)
  • Matcha: Go to a new coffee shop, order a matcha, sit, and just people watch. Less caffeine, more calm. (Everyday dose has a great matcha)

Life Snapshot

  • Gymnastics with Ledger in the morning → coffee + tacos as a crew.
  • A pool day that turned into great conversation (and a little sunburn).
  • BBQ pit tour in Lockhart with Kevin—always fun to see people passionate about their craft.

One Last Thing

Phones can wait. People can’t.

Fun P.S.

Hanging at the house, making cocktails and drinking Brez, snacking on chips and guac, dogs running around, Ledger keeping us busy, and just chatting about nothing and everything all at once. That’s family.

👉 What’s one moment this week where you can go phones down and be fully present? Hit reply and tell me—I’d love to hear.

Let’s all plan to crush the week ahead!

Talk soon.

Hey you, This week was heavy in the best way. Competing in DEKA Fit, watching Alex Bradley walk across the country, and feeling Papa John’s presence in our home—all reminded me: sometimes showing up feels like surrender, but it’s actually strength. One Thing to Think About This Week What does surrender mean to you? In DEKA Fit, my mind spun: why’d I sign up, this is dumb, halfway is too far… but by the end, I felt proud, strong, and grateful for my team. Then I watched the BPN Documentary:...

Hey you, This week was a mix of ordinary routines and big reminders. Mom and Kevin left Monday, and it was back to business as usual. Ledger had his 15-month appointment — still in the 90th percentile, still growing like a champ. Watching him learn is like playing Mario Brothers: level up, try the new thing, and occasionally need a distraction before the tantrum boss battle. That got me thinking… maybe that’s all life really is. Distractions, little to-dos, leveling up, and remembering the...

Hey you, Man… how fragile and unpredictable life is. News of big names passing—like Hulk Hogan and Ozzy Osbourne—makes you pause and think: if my time came tomorrow, would I feel like I spent it on what mattered most? And funny enough, that thought connected right back to our week at home. We weren’t doing anything flashy—just cleaning the garage, pulling weeds, breaking down recycling, and hanging out as a family in the driveway. Ledger loves a task, so he was in full force, game mode. It...
